In this lesson, we will show you how to configure a Time-Delay Interrupt OB and demonstrate how it is used. The Time-Delay Interrupt is a bit different than the other interrupt OB’s that have been demonstrated.
The Time-Delay Interrupt OB is configured in the same manner regardless of the CPU type. For this Interrupt OB, there is no additional block configuration required.
Unlike the other interrupts demonstrated so far, the Time-Delay Interrupt OB is called using a STEP7 block, called SRT_DINT, that must be added to the logic in the Main OB. Whether the PLC CPU is an older S7-300 or S-400 model or a newer S7-1200 or S7-1500 model, implementation of the Time Delay Interrupt OB will be the same. In this video, I will demonstrate the use of the Time-Delay Interrupt OB using an S7-1516 CPU.
