Ideal for you if…

  • You are ready to expand your knowledge of Siemens S7 programming beyond the PLC

  • You need to create visualizations and graphics for operator interactions or program testing

  • You want to learn how to program and connect graphic displays to PLC data using Siemens Basic HMI panels

  • You want to use the HMI simulation application in TIA Portal

Description

In this course you will learn how to use WinCC Basic in TIA Portal to create an application that will run in a standard, basic Siemens touch-panel operator interface, called a Human Machine Interface, or HMI for short.

An HMI allows the operator to visualize the process and interact with the process using graphic displays. These displays may include pushbuttons, data entry ports and other animated elements that allow the operator to interact with the process.

HMI displays include information about the process, such as tank levels, flow rates, pressures, and temperatures, as well as other process data like step or mode information. HMI displays can be configured with diagnostic or alarm information to allow the operator to receive alerts and warnings.

You will gain experience in designing HMI screens and adding and modifying objects on the screen to create behaviors that match stated specifications. Multiple screens will be configured to allow demonstration of a screen-to-screen navigation strategy. When the screens are completed, the HMI configuration will be downloaded to the HMI simulator, and with the associated PLC simulator running, real-time testing of the screens using data from the PLC will be demonstrated.

I’m a maintenance technician at my company and I recently transferred to automation. We’re working more and more with Siemens so I needed to get up to speed on the newest PLC software. RealPars videos feel like a real classroom experience. The instructors are great…they’re easy to follow and they make the lessons relevant to real-world applications and I like that. I definitely recommend RealPars.

Mario Flores

I tried other online training, but I have to say that RealPars instructors helped me connect the dots in a way the others didn’t. I was able to expand my Siemens knowledge…I only knew Allen-Bradley…now I understand the differences and similarities better. I find RealPars to be a professional and affordable way to get the big picture of PLC as well as gain lots of practical knowledge.
