In this lesson, we continue to instruct on how to use the tools in both Step 7 and TIA Portal.
This discussion is on how resources within the environment. When you load a program to the PLC it requires memory. You need to know both memory in the size of the processor as well as memory where the program resides.
The program downloads to a micro memory card or a MMC. To determine the memory size of your card you will need to add up the size of a couple key areas in your project to determine the correct size. You will also need to see how much memory your program is and make sure that the CPU you pick will handle the PLC program.
Let’s continue looking at the tools we have access to in our programming environment.
