This course will teach you the basics about working with Siemens ProfiNet devices. ProfiNet is an industrial communications protocol used primarily by Siemens devices. It is designed to be a replacement for the older ProfiBus protocol used by older hardware.

In this course, you'll learn how to work with ProfiNet devices, including PLCs, Distributed I/O Modules, HMIs, and more. You'll also learn how to utilize an MMC memory card to accomplish tasks such as programming a PLC and assigning a device name to a device without using a computer.

You will be guided through performing tasks in TIA Portal, the programming software used to program most Siemens devices.
