We’ve added a few more instructions to help with the simulation.

- The TON or Timer On Delay instruction set for 5000 milliseconds or 5 seconds and will increment the CTU, or Count Up instruction when the timer Seconds done bit is set. This turn will permit and increment the CTU counter by one degree.
- The next instruction MOV will move the counter, Celsius_Simulator accumulated value to the AOI’s Celsius input controller tag Celsius_Temperature, this value will be used internally to the AOI’s conversion logic.
- The last two instructions create a counter loop to count from -20 to 100. If the counter value equals or exceeds 100 the MOV instruction will reset the counter accumulator to -20.
For our PLC to run the program on we will use Studio 5000 Logix Emulate.
We will download the RealPars AOI program to the emulator PLC.
When downloading has completed a window will display indicating the download is complete and requests you to place the processor into RUN mode.
The processor will now be in RUN mode and we can visually see the AOI working to convert temperatures in real-time.
