When a PLC programmer starts to develop a program given a software specification, there are several steps that can be taken to ensure a successful implementation.
First, we need to define the “I/O” that will need to be included in the program.
From the specifications, we can see there is a Start Pushbutton, a Stop Pushbutton, a motor for the mill, a motor for the fan, a reset button for the fan, and a motor for the oil pump.
Also, we need to control 3 stack lights, monitor the Ball Mill motor temperature, and monitor the flow of salt fed to the Ball Mill. For each of the three motors, we will configure a start signal and monitor a running feedback signal.
